Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I finally discovered my true passion of Photojournalism in 2012 while attending the University of Iowa. In 2014 I decided to move to Colorado.
In my second year at the University of Iowa I got a job as a photographer for the newspaper, The Daily Iowan. There I met professional photographer Danny Wilcox-Frazier, who became my mentor. Soon after, I released my first photojournalistic story, My Baby, Not My Child. Based on my own story as a birth mother, I documented my son's journey into this world and our adoption story. After moving to Colorado, I spent the entire summer of 2016 traveling the country filming a few documentary series. Most notable was Up to Us: Caravan of Change, a 9-episode series.
It has always been my passion and life's work to capture and share people's stories--from weddings to birthday parties to documentary work. From family shoots to concert photography, Callie Ann Photography is dedicated to giving you memories to cherish for lifetimes to come.
